Braai Pit
Hidden Gem
The owner makes his own boerewors, on site, and he's there, in the back kitchen conjuring up your food himself. What he's running is a South African braai with American barbecue crossed through it, so most of the cooking happens in the smoker.
Ask for the pork ribs and they arrive by the quarter rack, with hand-cut slap chips, the way chips should be. Here's a tip: order less than you think you want, because the portions are heavy. On a recent visit one meal was enough for two with large appetites.
South Africans who grew up on this food rate it as legit, so get ready for the real braai deal! They moved in 2026, so make sure you get the right place. Also, they do a "beer shandy" for 40k - extra refreshing, and the first time we've seen shandy on a menu in this part of the world.
Pay your own bill as usual. Get the boerewors even if you've never had it before.
